About Santa Fe and Santa Fe Real Estate
Santa Fe is one of the most beautiful and romantic towns in the world. Nestled in mountain foothills and located in the high desert of northern New Mexico at 7,000 feet elevation, there are dramatic views of five mountain ranges - the Sangre de Cristo, Jemez, Sandia, Ortiz, and Manzano Mountains. The skies are incredibly blue and clear. The landscapes are breathtaking. The climate is temperate and the humidity is low. We have four distinct seasons with gorgeous colorful springs and falls. Summer evenings may be cool. Winter may bring occasional snowfall, but there is so much sunshine that snow rarely stays long on the ground.
Santa Fe has a fascinating history dating back hundreds of years. The cultural heritage is a blend of Native American Indians, Spanish conquistadors, Mexian settlers, and Anglo pioneers. Throughout the years Santa Fe has been known for its arts and crafts. Today there are over two hundred galleries displaying all varieties of visual arts. There over a dozen museums, theater, opera chamber music, symphony, and ballet to name only some of the performing arts. Performance spaces host a steady stream of nationally known musicians and entertainers. There are five colleges and a number of educational institutions.
Santa fe offers a casual elegance where one may be equally comfortable in blue jeans or black tie, and you would probably see both at the same event or restaurant. Ah Restaurants! The fine dining is amazing - so many great restaurants! The lifestyle in Santa Fe is wonderful. New Mexico is the fifth largest state in area with only two million in population (about a third of whom live in the Albuquerque area).
